1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using The Honest Remodeling Calculator ("HRC," "we," "us," or "our") website and services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
2. What We Provide
HRC provides:
- Online cost estimation tools for Texas homeowners
- Paid one-on-one advisory consultations with independent ex-contractor advisors
- Educational content about the home remodeling process
Our advisors provide independent guidance and cost education only. We are not a contractor referral service and we do not make contractor recommendations.
3. Advisory Nature of Our Service
HRC consultations are advisory in nature. Our estimates and advice are based on current market data, your project information, and the professional experience of our advisors. They are not a guarantee of final project costs. Actual costs may vary based on site conditions, contractor pricing, material availability, and other factors beyond our control.
HRC does not provide architectural, engineering, or licensed contractor services. For structural, code compliance, or permitted work, you should consult a licensed professional in your area.
4. Payments and Refunds
Consultation fees are charged at the time of booking through our payment processor (Stripe). Current session rates are displayed at the time of booking.
Cancellation and Refunds:
- Cancellations made more than 24 hours before your scheduled session are eligible for a full refund.
- Cancellations made less than 24 hours before your session are not eligible for a refund, but you may reschedule once at no additional charge.
- If HRC cancels your session for any reason, you will receive a full refund.

5. Free Estimator Tool
The online estimator tool is provided free of charge for informational purposes. Results are approximate and based on regional averages for the Dallas–Fort Worth area. They should not be used as final project budgets or for contract negotiations without professional verification.
6. Your Responsibilities
- Provide accurate information about your project so we can give you the best possible guidance
- Upload only files you own or have the right to share
- Not use our services for any unlawful purpose
- Treat our advisors with respect during consultations
7. Intellectual Property
All content on this site — including text, graphics, pricing data, and software — is the property of HRC or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.
Estimate documents we generate for you during your paid consultation are yours to keep and use for your personal project planning.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Texas law, HRC's total liability for any claim arising from your use of our services shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific consultation or service giving rise to the claim.
HRC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including but not limited to cost overruns, contractor disputes, or project delays, arising from your reliance on our estimates or advice.
9. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Texas, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in that venue.
10. Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of our services after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
